Volkswagen Touareg Ads in Sahara Desert

Volkswagen has launched the Touareg in New Zealand with a series of television commercials highlighting the Saharan origins of the name. The new Sports Utility Vehicle is named after the Touareg people whose origins are in the Sahara desert, in West Africa.

The Touareg series features the Sahara desert -- with an Arab, ostriches, a camel and a dung beetle. Fascinating having a North African context with Kiwi accents! The one advert that appears to feature NZ scenery has African music!
