Red Meat promoted by singing Australian butchers

Apologies to all vegetarians reading this entry…

Here’s a link to the Red Meat Feel Good Campaign launched in Australia. The highlight of the campaign is the Singing Butchers TV Advert. In something like a Morris Dancers routine or Hare Krishna dance we see butcher’s in their aprons prancing around the streets chanting the benefits of red meat. Definitely off the edge. It was created by The Campaign Palace and won an AFA award in 2003.

The TV Advert directs viewers to www.themainmeal.com.au – a site featuring recipes and diet tips, and of course the 4.17 MB mpeg file of the TV Advert “Take A Butchers”.

The Red Meat Feel Good campaign is featured on another site: www.redmeat-feelgood.com.au Along with the 2.2 MB clip of the Singing Butchers, there’s a soccer-focused TV advert (2.2 MB) and a spot featuring geriatric rock dancing (3.5 MB).

Meat and Livestock Australia’s web site has featured the Singing Butchers TV advert as well, along with the Border Collie in the butcher shop window and other lamb promotions.

The Singing Dancing Butchers…. Enjoy!
