Jonathan Glazer – TV Advert and Film Director

Television Commercials Radiohead DVDMy daughter just bought the Radiohead DVD – “7 Television Commercials“. There’s some stunning work here in these music videos from the late 1990s (not actually television commercials). Each music video is worth watching again and again. Maybe its because its because of Radiohead’s enigmatic lyrics and performance. Maybe its the visual and plot concepts behind the films. Or maybe just the effects.

Two of the films stand out – Street Spirit and Karma Police, directed by Jonathan Glazer. The Radiohead video clips are available online at:
MusicMuch.com Video.

Thom Yorke, lead singer of Radiohead, also featured in the UNKLE music video (DJ Shadow) directed by Glazer, “Rabbit in your headlight”. See it online in 50 mb mpeg

Jonathan Glazer is most known in adland for his Guinness ads, “Swimblack” (1998) and “Surfer” (1999). The composite image below features Jonathan Glazer along with a still from the Guinness Surfer Advert.
